21.대저 정직한 자는 땅에 거하며 완전한 자는 땅에 남아 있으리라
22.그러나 악인은 땅에서 끊어지겠고 간사한 자는 땅에서 뽑히리라

성경은 그리스도를 증거합니다. 따라서 모든 성경은 그리스도를 지향하는 것으로 해석되어야 하기에 반드시 배제되어야 하는 것은 문자 해석입니다. 문자 해석은 문자에 대한 우리의 지식으로 성경을 풀어가는 것입니다. 성경을 그렇게 해석한다면 인간의 지식을 넘어서지 못하게 됩니다. 그래서 인간이 중심이 된 종교 세계를 만들어내는 해석만 난무하게 되는 것입니다.
16,17절을 보면“지혜가 또 너를 음녀에게서, 말로 호리는 이방 계집에게서 구원하리니 그는 젊은 시절의 짝을 버리며 그의 하나님의 언약을 잊어버린 자라”라고 말합니다.
우리의 지식으로 해석하는 음녀는 음란하고 방탕한 여자입니다. 창녀와 같은 여자를 음녀라는 말의 의미로 받아들이는 것입니다. 그런데 지혜가 우리를 음녀에게서 말로 호리는 이방 계집에게서 구원한다고 말합니다. 음녀를 음란한 여자로 해석하는 사람에게 이 말은 어떻게 다가올까요? 성적인 쾌락에 빠지는 죄에서 구원하는 것으로 받아들일 것입니다.
어떤 이는 젊은 시절의 짝을 버리는 것을 남편이나 아내를 두고 다른 이와 관계를 맺거나 이혼하는 것으로 말합니다. 그리고 그것을 결혼할 때 했던 서약을 잊어버린 것이라고 합니다. 서약을 하나님의 언약으로 간주하는 것입니다. 이런 것이 성경의 문자를 인간의 지식에 맞추어 해석하는 문자 해석입니다.
계 17:5절에 보면“그의 이마에 이름이 기록되었으니 비밀이라, 큰 바벨론이라, 땅의 음녀들과 가증한 것들의 어미라 하였더라”라고 말합니다.
계 17:1절에서 말하는 큰 음녀에 관한 내용입니다. 그런데 그 이마에 기록된 이름이 비밀, 큰 바벨론, 땅의 음녀들과 가증한 것들의 어미입니다. 음녀의 이름이 비밀이라면 우리가 알고 있는 음녀가 아니라는 뜻입니다. 우리가 아는 음녀와 같다면 비밀이라고 할 수 없기 때문입니다. 음녀의 이름을 큰 바벨론이라고 하는 것도 다르지 않습니다. 우리가 도무지 알 수 없는 음녀에 관한 이야기이기 때문입니다.
큰 바벨론은 우리가 몸담고 살아는 세상을 지칭합니다. 세상을 가리켜서 음녀라고 하는 것은 세상에서 세상에 있는 것을 원하고 그것으로 기뻐하며 살아가는 우리 또한 음녀에 해당한다는 뜻입니다. 우리는 이러한 말에 대해 불편한 감정을 감출 수가 없습니다. 나에 대해서는 항상 좋은 말을 듣고 싶어 하기 때문입니다. 하지만 우리의 죄를 드러내고 고발하는 일에 성경은 한 치의 양보도 없습니다. 죄인의 자리에서 그리스도를 지향하는 자로 세우는 것이 말씀에 담긴 뜻이기 때문입니다. 그래서 성경으로 나의 나 됨을 확인하라고 성령이 오신 것입니다.
계 17:3-4절에 보면“곧 성령으로 나를 데리고 광야로 가니라 내가 보니 여자가 붉은 빛 짐승을 탔는데 그 짐승의 몸에 하나님을 모독하는 이름들이 가득하고 일곱 머리와 열 뿔이 있으며 그 여자는 자주 빛과 붉은 빛 옷을 입고 금과 보석과 진주로 꾸미고 손에 금 잔을 가졌는데 가증한 물건과 그의 음행의 더러운 것들이 가득하더라”라고 말합니다.
성령이 보여준 여자는 붉은 빛 짐승을 탔는데 그 짐승의 몸에 하나님을 모독하는 이름들이 가득하다고 합니다. 하나님을 모독하는 것은 하나님 여호와의 이름을 망령되이 부르는 것과 같습니다. 그런데 믿는다고 하면서 믿음에 열심이 없거나, 죄를 회개하지 않고 하나님의 이름을 부르며 기도를 하는 것을 여호와의 이름을 망령되이 부르는 것으로 말하기도 합니다. 이것이 말씀드린 것처럼 문자에 대해 알고 있는 지식에 의한 해석입니다. 물론 말씀에 담긴 의도와는 전혀 다릅니다.
여호와의 이름을 부르는 것은 원하는 것이 있다는 뜻입니다. 그런데 사람들이 하나님의 이름을 부를 때 생각하는 것은‘과연 하나님이 나의 기도를 들어주실까?’입니다. 그리고 자신이 죄지은 것은 없는지를 살핍니다. 죄지은 것이 있고 회개를 하지 않으면 하나님이 기도를 들어주지 않으신다는 불안감이 있는 것입니다. 이것이 예수 그리스도의 피로 이루어진 하나님과의 관계를 모독하는 것입니다.
따라서 짐승의 몸에 하나님을 모독하는 이름이 가득하다는 것은 피의 능력이 아니라 자기의 선함과 의를 내세워 원하는 것을 얻고자 하는 자들을 의미하는 것으로 볼 수 있습니다. 결국 하나님을 모독하는 이름에 우리도 있는 것입니다. 그렇다면 음녀에 속한 우리가 다시 또 생각하게 되는 것은 구원받을 수 없는 자에 대한 용서와 사랑과 긍휼히 여기심입니다.
하나님의 언약에는 용서, 사랑, 긍휼이 있습니다. 이 언약으로 인해서 우리가 그리스도의 신부라는 자리에 있게 된 것입니다. 그래서 하나님의 언약을 잊어버리지 않는다면 자신의 짝으로 함께 하는 신랑에게서 용서와 사랑과 긍휼을 보게 됩니다. 이것이 우리를 음녀에게서 구원하는 지혜의 일입니다.
잠 31:29-30절에 보면“덕행 있는 여자가 많으나 그대는 모든 여자보다 뛰어나다 하느니라 고운 것도 거짓되고 아름다운 것도 헛되나 오직 여호와를 경외하는 여자는 칭찬을 받을 것이라”라고 말합니다.
음녀가 아닌 여호와를 경외하는 여자가 있습니다. 이 여자는 여호와를 경외한다는 것 때문에 남편으로부터‘세상에 덕행 있는 여자가 많지만 그대는 모든 여자보다 뛰어나다’는 칭찬을 받습니다. 여호와를 경외하는 것이 덕행 있는 행실과 무관하다는 뜻입니다. 우리가 고운 것, 아름다운 것으로 여기는 것도 여호와를 경외하는 것과 무관합니다. 여호와를 경외하는 것은 저주받은 죄의 자리에서 하나님의 언약이 증거 하는 용서와 긍휼로 그리스도의 신부 됨을 감사하는 것이기 때문입니다.
지금의 교회는 세상이 인정하는 곱고 아름다운 것으로 믿음을 장식하려고 합니다. 세상의 아름다운 것으로 옷 입고 하나님의 칭찬을 받으려고 합니다. 이것이 하나님을 모독하는 이름으로 음녀와 함께 하는 것이고 18,19절에서 말하는 것처럼 생명 길을 얻지 못할 사망과 스올로 기울어진 길을 가는 것일 뿐입니다.
지혜가 들어오면 하나님의 언약의 눈으로 세상을 보기 때문에 고운 것도 거짓 되고 아름다운 것도 헛됨을 알게 됩니다. 지혜가 알게 하는 것은 하나님의 언약으로 오신 예수 그리스도 안에서 용서의 능력을 믿는 것이 우리에게 칭찬이 된다는 것입니다. 이처럼 여호와를 경외하는 여자는 지혜로 인해서 만들어집니다.
지혜는 우리를 새로운 인간이 되게 합니다. 하나님은 곱고 아름다운 선함으로 장식한 인간을 인간으로 인정하는 것이 아니라 아들이 흘리신 십자가의 피의 용서 아래 있는 인간을 인간으로 인정하신다는 것을 아는 새로운 인간 되게 하는 것이 지혜입니다. 이것이 지혜로 인한 구원입니다. 따라서 지혜로 새롭게 된 인간은 자기의 아름다움에 관심과 시선을 두지 않습니다. 다만 십자가에서 다 이루신 피의 용서라는 하늘의 완전한 아름다움에 취할 뿐입니다. 이것이 지혜로 구원받은 신자입니다.
Chapter 8
The Salvation of Wisdom
To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it. (Proverbs 2:16-22 KJV)

The Bible testifies of Christ. Therefore, since all Scripture must be interpreted as pointing to Christ, it is literal interpretation that must be excluded. Literal interpreting of the Bible is to unravel the Bible with the knowledge through our common sense. If we interpret the Bible in that way, we cannot go beyond human knowledge. That is why there are only interpretations that create a world of religion centered on human mind.
Verses 16 and 17 say, “To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.”
The harlot, which we interpret to our knowledge, is a lewd and prodigal woman. It is to accept a woman who is like a whore in the meaning of the word harlot. But it is said that wisdom saves us from the harlot and from the talkative strange woman. How does this approach one who interprets the woman as a prostitute? One will take it as a deliverance from the sin of indulging in sexual pleasure.
Some say that abandoning a young mate means while having a husband or wife, having an affair with someone else or divorcing his or her spouse. And it is said that he forgot the vow he made when he got married. It is to regard the oath as a covenant of God. This is the literal interpretation that interprets the passage of the Bible according to our common sense.
Revelation 17:5 says, “And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”
It is about the great whore in Revelation 17:1. But the name written on her forehead is Mystery, Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth. If the harlot's name is a secret, it means it's not the harlot we know. Because if it is like the harlot we know, it's not a secret. It is no different to call the harlot Babylon the Great because it is a story about a harlot we never know.
Babylon the Great refers to the world we live in. When we refer to the world as a whore, it means that we who want to be in the world and live happily with it are also whores. We cannot hide our uncomfortable feelings about these words because we always want to hear good things about us. But the Bible makes no concessions when it comes to exposing and accusing us of our sins. This is because what the Word does is to set people from the position of sinners toward Christ. That is why the Holy Spirit has come to confirm who we are through the Bible.
Revelation 17:3-4 says, “So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.”
The woman the Spirit showed us rode a scarlet-colored beast, and the body of the beast was full of blasphemy names. Blasphemy against God is like taking the name of the Lord God in vain. However, some say that they are not zealous in their faith or repent of their sins and pray while calling on the name of God without repenting of their sins. This, as I said, is an interpretation based on what we know about the meanings of the words. Of course, it is completely different from the intention contained in the Word of God.
Calling on the name of Jehovah means that we have something we want. But when we call on God's name, we think, 'Will God really hear my prayers?' And we check to see if we have sinned. If we have sinned and do not repent, we have anxiety that God will not hear our prayers. This is blasphemy against the relationship with God established through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, the fact that the body of the beast is full of blasphemy names can be seen as the meaning of those who want to get what they want, not by the power of the blood, but by their goodness and righteousness. After all, we also have names that blaspheme God. Then again, we who belong to the harlot are reminded of forgiveness, love, and compassion for those who cannot be saved.
God's covenant includes forgiveness, love, and mercy. Because of this covenant, we are in the position of the bride of Christ. So, if you do not forget God's covenant, you will see forgiveness, love, and mercy from the Groom, who is with you as your partner. This is the work of wisdom that saves us from the whore.
Proverbs 31:29-30 says, “Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”
There is a woman, not a prostitute, who fears the Lord. This woman is praised by her husband for her fear of God, saying, 'There are many virtuous women in the world, but you are superior to all women.' It means that the fear of the Lord has nothing to do with virtuous conduct. What we consider to be good-looking or beautiful has nothing to do with fearing the Lord. To fear the Lord is to give thanks for being the bride of Christ with the forgiveness and mercy that God's covenant testifies in the place of cursed sin.
The current churches are trying to decorate the faith with charm and beautiful things that the world recognizes. We try to wear the beautiful things of the world and receive God's praise. This is to be with a prostitute in the name of blasphemy against God, and as it is said in Verses 18 and 19, we are just walking the path that is inclined toward death and hell, where the way of life is non-existent.
When wisdom comes in, you see the world through the eyes of God's covenant, and you will come to know that charming things are false and beautiful things are futile. Wisdom reveals that it is commendable to us to believe in the power of forgiveness in Jesus Christ, who came as God's covenant. Thus, the woman who fears the Lord is made by Wisdom.
Wisdom makes us new human beings that know God does not recognize humans who are adorned with beautiful and beautiful goodness as humans, but recognizes humans who are under the forgiveness of His Son's blood on the cross. This is salvation through wisdom. Thus, a person regenerated by wisdom does not pay attention to and gaze upon his or her own beauty. We are just absorbed on the perfect beauty of heaven, the forgiveness of the blood that was accomplished on the cross. This is the believer who has been saved by wisdom!
